Welcome to Tamborine Mountain’s Junior Golf Program
Our club always welcomes & encourages potential new junior member participants to join our Junior Program, and to play and enjoy our unique Golf Course.
Our Aims:
· To provide our junior boys and girls with a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment.
· To provide a beginners program designed for basic learning and lots of fun.
· To keep the costs affordable for families, and to encourage and maintain participation.
· To assist and develop our juniors with basic golfing skills with fundamentals type coaching and the basic etiquette of golf.
· To promote and assist our more accomplished juniors to represent our club in District events such as the Gold Coast District Interclub Completions and Junior Open Golf Classic’s held at various courses throughout the Gold Coast & other neighbouring regions.
Over the past few years our program has produced and will continue to produce many fine young golfers, and through the discipline and etiquette which our sport provides has assisted many juniors grow into respectable adults.
We strive to cater for all ages within our Junior Golf program, so if your child would simply like to try the sport and does not have any equipment we will be more than happy to lend you some equipment to use (depending upon availability).
Our junior participants are not only local to Mt Tamborine but also coming from various surrounding locations (our club being 20 to 30 mins from Nerang, Gaven, Coomera, Canungra, etc.).
And for Mum’s & Dad’s living some distance from our club, you are always welcome to follow your son or daughter during their participation or you can simply enjoy all the sites and activities Mt Tamborine offers.
Membership categories:
Cadet Junior (will be given a junior club handicap for Cadet Junior competitions only)
The program is conducted on most Sundays (except school holidays & Public Holiday long weekends), and is conducted between 10am and 12.30pm. Generally between 3, 6 or 9 holes are played depending on each Child’s ability.
A Cadet Junior can only progress to Junior Membership status once the following is able to be achieved:
· Skill levels must be sufficient to satisfy and be approved by our Club Professional and our Junior Committee.
· Consideration of the Cadet Juniors physical ability to play 18 holes.
· Parents consent will be required prior the Cadet Juniors inclusion into Junior Membership and completions.
Junior Member (with AGU or WGA handicap). Junior members play 18 holes of various competitions, and play a series of Monthly Medals during the calendar year (8 rounds) for which shall determine the 2010 Junior Champion (Gross results), 2010 Nett Champion (Nett results) and other awards. To be eligible a minimum of 5 rounds must be played, and the best of your 5 round scores out of the 8 rounds count, allowing you drop the 3 worst scores of the potential 8 rounds.
Junior members are also eligible and encouraged by our club members to participate in our main club competitions.
Junior Membership annual fees: (No Joining fees)
Cadet Juniors - $50 per annum
Junior Member - $ 65 per annum
Playing fees:
Cadet Juniors - $3.00 (Sunday golf program)
Junior Member - $5.00 (Sunday competition)
Cadet Junior Program and Junior Member Competitions: are held on Sunday mornings (excluding school holidays & public holiday weekends (please refer to our junior completion calendar).
Cadet Juniors - 10am to 12.30pm
Junior Members – 8.00am to 8.30am (tee off) to approx. 12.30pm
Membership year:
Membership payments are as per the financial year, from the 1st July to the end of June. Pro rata membership fees apply if joining our club during other months.
