held today. Monday 7-7-08
Only two of our Juniors entered,
Leanne & Ryan Cooke and neither threatened, nett 86 for Leanne & 88
for Ryan. Ryan had a reasonable 1st nine but fell in a hole on the
back. There weren't many that broke par on the day and the greens
were pretty deadly.

of our Juniors contest the 2008 Southport Golf Club Junior
Classic.
Our best result was returned by Tom Cogan who finished
runner up the Boys 15-17 year age group net event with a

We have changed the format of the Competition with at least two
possibly three grades, A,B & C.
Those with an 18 hole handicap play in A grade off their 18 hole
handicap & the others play in B or C grade.

CONGRATULATIONS
Our Juniors were today victorious in their
2008 Gold Coast District Division 2 Interclub Final against Club Banora at
Robina Woods 4/2.
The match was decided on the last hole and
with the last putt with Chris King having to halve the final hole for us to
win. Chris sank about a 15 foot putt to win the hole and give the boys
victory much to the delight of the gallery. Again WELL DONE to all the
Juniors who have participated. We are now elevated to Division 1.

Our Juniors were today victorious in the Gold Coast District
Division 2 Interclub Final against Club Banora at Robina Woods
4/2. Ryan Milner won 4/2, Chris King 1 up, Liam Moloney 2/1 Tom
Cogan won on a forfeit. Sterling Gregory lost 6/5 & Clifford
Arnesen lost 2/1. The match went down to the last putt on the
last hole with Chris sinking about a 15 foot putt to win his
match and wrap up the title. The boys now are elevated to
Division 1 next year. Congratulations & well done to all the
Juniors. We would also like to thank our Managers, Gerry Moloney
& Roger Arnesen for looking after the boys each week and also
for providing them with drinks etc. during each match.
Today we had 6 players contest a Single stroke event with Angus
Douglas 39 winning from Ryan Cooke 40 & Leanne Wallace 41. 6 of
our Interclub players also played a 9 hole Stroke event after
they returned from Robina with Liam winning with 30 net, 39 off
the stick. Congratulations to all the winners.

The Juniors first day for 2008 was abandoned due to the
weather.
The Interclub went ahead at Coolangatta/Tweed with the
boys beating Club Banora 4.5/1.5.
Congratulations to all the boys.
The final round of the Girls Pennants however was abandoned
due to Emerald Lakes course being closed. As a result
the matches were halved and the Girls Pennant winning team for
2008 is Emerald Lakes.

Surfers Paradise against Surfers Paradise & halved their match.
Tom Cogan & Sterling Gregory won their matches 2&1 & 3&2 &

Coolangatta Tweed today. Leanne had a win on a forfeit.

Our Junior's played their first match in the
Interclub/Pennants series today, the boys had a bye in the first round last
week.
The boys played Interclub at Southport and
unfortunately went down to the host club 6/0.
Our only Girl Junior, Leanne Wallace
played her first Pennants match for a composite team, "The All Stars" at
Surfers Paradise against Emerald Lakes and
also went down 4&2.
Well payed to all the players & hopefully
we can turn it around next week.

Hamish Adams both on 36.

also finalised today with Sterling Gregory
the overall winner for 2007 from Ryan Cooke.

from Leanne Wallace & Ryan Cooke.
